Colne High Street is all about the Independent scene. One continuous road , and side streets to explore too, jam-packed with local, independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Colne has plentiful FREE parking (but please remember to use your parking disc or pick one up from a local shop or Colne Town Hall). So if you love quirky interiors – modern, retro and vintage or grabbing a bargain in an Antique or charity shop, then Colne High Street is a must-visit for you.
Colne still has all those unique services and shops that you won’t find on many high streets – from key cutting and shoe repairs, buying a musical instrument, local bookstore to a tabacconist and old fashion sweep shop. Colne’s steep curves and unique landscape help define an area that has a very distinct feel and is a shopping hub for locals from the surrounding areas who go about their daily lives grabbing fresh fruit and veg from the greengrocers, stopping at the local butchers, getting a haircut at the local barber and being pulled in by the smells of freshly cooked Artisan bread from Deerstone Bakery.
As you continue down Albert Road, and venture down the side streets too, you will find more independent shops selling everything for house and home – one of the longer stretches of the town but all within walking distance. From the delights of a hearty breakfast and baked treats from Eadies Kitchen to locally made gifts and artworks from Chosen by Jessica . Colne is perfect to mooch from shop to shop and you can easily spend an afternoon, if not a whole day here.
There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes to choose from so you can take in the atmosphere day or evening.
