Northern Whisper Brewing Company brew 7 different beers at their brewery in Rossendale, just south of Colne. They have created several tap rooms all tied together by their unique, industrial theme. Northern Whisper Colne is located in an old bank building in the centre of town and still has some of the banks original features for customers to enjoy. Choose from one of 6 cask beers or 14 keg beers and nestle into one of the original bank vaults. Whether you want to watch sports, listen to live music, or work your way through the bar snacks this tap room really does have something for everyone!
The first micro pub to open in its doors in the heart of Colne was Boyce’s Barrel and it boasts a selection of real ales from breweries all around the country. Its authentic, relaxed atmosphere attracts real ale drinkers from far and wide as the constant rotation of ale means there is always something new to try. When visiting, be sure to spend some time admiring the impressive collection of memorabilia and retro signs that line the walls of this micro pub and don’t be afraid to ask the owner if you’re curious, who will happily tell you the tales of some of these interesting items. The live music nights are also not to be missed – be sure to get there early as it’s a real hit with the locals.

This micro pub opened in 2016 and has certainly made its mark in the centre of town. Its modern, American inspired décor ensures that Cask ‘n’ Keg stands out from the crowd. Offering a mixture of ale and cider as well as an impressive spirits collection there is something to suit even the hardiest of taste buds!
You can find Cask ‘n’ Keg, Tapster’s Promise and Boyce’s Barrel next to each other on Market Street, so you don’t have to walk far at all to start your own mini ale trail!
Unbound Brew Co
Brewing without boundaries… The team at Unbound Brew Co work hard to combine rich flavours, premium ingredients and unrivalled passion to create a range of incredible craft beers and lagers. Unbound’s revolutionary beer can be purchased in person at the brewery which is located on the outskirts of Colne or ordered online through their website. Whether you are tempted by the fruit tea infused pale ale or a stout with hints of chocolate and coffee there are lots of flavours to try!
This year the brewery held its first Micro Beer Festival which brought together their tasty beers with mixologists, street food vendors and live music. After a successful inaugural event the brewery has hinted at making this annual festival which will definitely be worth a visit.
